They visited schools and met with government officials in order to promote the conservation of this rare species. Teton Kestrel Project Featured in the JH News and Guide!
We recently had the pleasure of taking out a reporter and photographer from the JH News and Guide to introduce them to kestrels and our kestrel project. We attempted to capture kestrels a few times for the crew and while we came close, we didn't connect. Regardless, they did manage to get a great article out of it that we hope will raise awareness of the status of kestrels in Western Wyoming. Check out the article here.

From the Craighead Archives!
We were recently notified that plant specimens collected by John and Frank Craighead were successfully archived in the University of Montana Herbarium. The specimens were originally collected by the Craighead brothers in the 1940's and 1960's to be used for a plant identification book. With the help of Craighead Beringia South, the specimens were put into the UM Herbarium as well as the Yellowstone National Park Herbarium and the Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria online database. More information on this project can be seen in the UM Herbarium Newsletter and the plants entered into the Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria can be found HERE.
